Halloween or Thanksgiving?

Which is better Halloween or Thanksgiving? Halloween traditionally is the night of October 31. It is the eve of All Saints Day; commonly celebrated by children who dress in costumes and solicit candy or other treats door to door. While Thanksgiving is traditionally expression of gratitude to God and your family; it is also an annual national holiday marked by religious and a traditional meal including turkey. Around Diegueno Middle School it is a tie between the two holidays. A fellow Paige Caccam says that she likes Thanksgiving better because she gets to spend time with her family and loves to hang out and eat with her family. Paige thinks that Halloween is okay but likes Thanksgiving better. While Felix Arnold a 7th grader says that he enjoys Halloween better because he doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving and that he likes to hang out with his friends during Halloween trick or treating. Avery Jones also agrees, she says “With Halloween you can express yourself in your costume and hang out with your friends.”  Lauren Woodley agrees because you can hang out with your friends and trick or treat.Joshua Woodworth on the other hand thinks that Thanksgiving is better because he has nothing to do on Halloween and wishes he could spend more time with his family. In all of America statistics show that Halloween and Thanksgiving are equally liked.
