Hurricane Sally on the news.

Ava Auger, staff

2020 has been a crazy year with the Corona virus outbreak, devastating fires, online school, quarantine extended, and Halloween canceled? To add to this year full of tragedies, It’s hurricane season! In total 29 people died just because of hurricanes in the months of August and September. Of course there were many other tropical hurricanes this year, but never as big as Sally and Laura. These storms caused floods, homes destroyed, and lives lost. Laura took place in Louisiana from August 20th to the 29th. Sally stormed off to the Gulf from September 11 to the 18th. In total 15.1 billion dollars worth of damage!  Did I mention we are only in the start of hurricane season? It’s not just the cost and the destruction we have to worry about. The storms get bigger and bigger every year, experts say this is due to global warming! Be safe and stay healthy and don’t wash up among the beach like the starfishes that hurricane Sally brought  in.
