Fearful Fruit

In Australia there has been over 100 cases of fruits with needles in them in the past week.  On a farm in Queensland, Australia there was abundant amount of sewing needles found in there strawberries, devastating many  farmers and customers. This has not only happened to strawberries but has also happened to bananas and an apple. Both the banana and apple scare were in Sydney, Australia.  The worst case has been with a man who ate a strawberries with a sewing needle in it. The man had to be transported to the hospital immediately to have it pulled out. Many local shops selling strawberries in Australia pulled them from the shelf’s for safety reasons.  Police are now offering 100,000 Australian dollars or 72,000 American dollars for leads further with the case. The Prime Minister of Australia(Scott Morrison) says “ Some idiot for his or her reasons has engaged in an act of sabotage it would seem.” So far Australian authorities have arrested a boy who turned himself in.  Some grocery stores are dramatically dropping prices of strawberries so consumers will still purchase these item. Some farms are metal detecting there strawberries before selling them to grocery stores. What do you think? I asked people from Diegueno about this incident and how Australian detective can solve this problem. 7th grader Justin Simpson says that “ That the people doing this act are cruel and stupid” he also says that Australian detectives should track down the farms and look at the surveillance video”.Image result for strawberry with needles
