Are you tired of having to put your phone inside the phone caddy every time you walk into your classroom? Isn’t every eighth grader? In my opinion, the phone caddy is a bad idea. Here is why. First of all, if we don’t have our chromebooks, what are we supposed to use instead? Our phones. But, if we leave our phones in the phone caddy, you can’t use your phone to do classwork and etc.

Second of all, you can’t listen to music while you are working on a English assignment because your phone has to be inside of the phone caddy. Listening to music while working helps students feel happy and get them more focused on working on the assignment. It makes the assignment more fun if you have your music to listen to while working on your English assignment.

My final reason is that if there was a emergency at school, you need your phone in order to contact someone about the situation. Let’s say that there was a shooting inside the classroom, if your friend was in trouble, don’t you have to use your phone in order to contact someone to come help? To answer that question, yes, you would. Even though the teacher has their classroom phone, the students phones are still better to use because they can contact their parents first and then call someone to come help out. Therefore, the students need to have their phones if they don’t have access to chromebooks, listen to music, and in case of campus emergencies.
